7.4 Partial Collar
When planchets are misfed into the coining chamber they will fall partially or completely outside the collar. When a planchet falls completely outside of the collar, a broadstruck
or off-center coin is the result. If the planchet partially remains in the collar, then the result is a partial collar strike. Such coins have a wider than normal diameter with
an edge that appears slanted. This beveled edge results from the planchet only partially seating in the collar before striking. The edge will also have a rim that was only partially struck.
